Pulse Generators (POD)

The POD Pulse Output Device (POD) converts the rotary motion of the Positive Displacement meters into electronic pulses. This allows the meter to interface with a wide variety of electronic monitoring devices and control equipment. The POD operates in standard and bidirectional flow applications. The POD is compatible with positive displacement meters which deal with: gasoline, leaded gasoline, motor gasoline, refined gasoline, unleaded gasoline, diesel oil fuels, biodiesel, Jet Fuels, L.P.G., Lubricating Oil Petroleum Base, kerosene, ethanol, methanol, acetone, alcohols, DEF (Diesel Exhaust Fluid), aromatic solvents, aliphatic solvents, chlorinated solvents, esters, ketones, treated water, deionized water, demineralized water.

Main Features

Inside the electronics compartment, a magnetic encoder converts the rotary motion into a high resolution, two- channel, quadrature square wave. Both outputs are driven by transistors and switch from zero volts in the “ON” state to the user’s power supply voltage in the “OFF” state. As open collector devices, the outputs can sink up to 5 mA (per channel) in the “ON” state and sustain up to 24 VDC in the “OFF” state.

Standard models are suitable to be mounted on LC and SAMPI meters M-SM-MA-MS series.
POD is suitable to be mounted on devices rated up to ANSI 300 rating (ASME B16.5). For this application POD must be installed with optional fasteners: N.2 screws M5x0.8 UNI 5739 8.8 zinc plated (see Specifications 2.4). Fixing screws must have a minimum length of 16mm.
